Our Mission

The Millennium Promise Alliance, Inc. (MPA) is an international non-governmental organization, not-for-profit organization in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Our mission is to implement innovative solutions and scalable systems aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. 

Millennium Promise Alliance operationalizes our mission by mobilizing cutting-edge science and technology through a multi-sector and multi-scale approach to accelerate achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as well as support governments and communities to eradicate poverty across the continent of Africa and beyond.

MPA works directly with governments, corporate entities, and partners to tackle the root causes of extreme poverty. From 2005-15, MPA provided the operational platform for the Millennium Villages Project which deployed a holistic, science-based approach to accelerate progress on the Millennium Development Goals benefitting more than 500,000 people across sub-Saharan Africa.

Today, we build on this work to support our partners in the design and implementation of various, multi-scale solutions in Health, Agriculture, Education, Gender Equality, Monitoring and Evaluation, Infrastructure, Environment, WASH, and more. Millennium Promise Alliance provides cost-efficient, effective, science based, and leading-edge interventions in the quest to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
